THE RISE OF THE “ACCIDENTAL ENTREPRENEUR”

Meet Maureen Boddy: The woman who didn’t set out to build businesses — she simply set out to solve problems.

Some of the best businesses don’t begin with a business plan.

They begin with a frustration.

A problem that won’t go away.

A product that doesn’t exist.

And someone who eventually says:

“Surely there has to be a better way?”

For Maureen Boddy, that question has been the beginning of more than one entrepreneurial adventure.

Now 80, Maureen continues to create, innovate, learn and build — proving that entrepreneurship doesn’t have an age limit, and that sometimes the most successful business ideas come from simply paying attention to what people need.

IT STARTED WITH A PROBLEM

Maureen’s journey into entrepreneurship wasn’t driven by a desire to build an empire.

It started much closer to home.

Her own skin.

When Maureen found that many of the skincare products available to her irritated her skin, she began looking for alternatives. But at the time, truly natural products were not as readily available as they are today.

So, instead of simply accepting the situation, she began exploring the possibilities herself.

What started as a personal need gradually grew into something much bigger — the development of her own wellness and skincare products.

And so, another chapter of Maureen’s entrepreneurial journey began.

THE LESSON?

Sometimes the best business idea is the problem you’re personally desperate to solve.

“I couldn’t find what I needed, so I started looking for a way to create it myself.”

FROM PERSONAL SOLUTION TO YOUthing

What began with a search for

better solutions eventually became Youthing — a range of products rooted in Maureen’s interest in wellness, healthy living and the desire to help people feel good in their own skin.

The name itself captures something central to Maureen’s philosophy.

Growing older doesn’t have to mean giving up on vitality.

It’s about looking after yourself, staying curious and continuing to invest in your own wellbeing.

For Maureen, that philosophy isn’t just something printed on a product label.

It’s something she lives.

THEN CAME ANOTHER PROBLEM...
